Stupid Teasers Teasing Me
Well they posted the teaser trailer for the next spiderman movie. It looks really cool. May 4th 2007 can't get here soon enough. The only problem I see is that it looks like it will cram a lot of things into one movie. I have faith in Raimi's love of spiderman and good track record. Anyway check out the trailer here.

Three villains! Let us not forget the debacle known as Batman & Robin, and it's three villains...
In the second one, there was a main (doc ock) and secondary(Harry osborne). It will only get cluttered if we are shown the complex back stories to each one. The good news is that we already have the background to Harry as the new goblin. It looks from the trailer as if the venom background is a key theme so that only leaves sandman (which I don't think ever really had a back story). Sandman can be an experiment by harry to try and stop spiderman. I don't think that we will get too many more villains. Also unless something has changed, this should be the last spiderman movie.
Like I said before, I have faith in Raimi. He hasn't let down yet.
Batman and Robin is a bad example as it was obviously just made for the sake of the almighty dollar.
Spiderman 3 was planned from the beginning and has all the same people involved. Much like lord of the rings or starwars. This one is on much better ground than batman and robin ever was.
Except that they're bringing in Gwen Stacy?! now...what the hell is that?
Yeah I don't know about that either.
And Raimi did let the cheese down, with the first film...he only redeemed himself with #2...
The only thing I thought was wrong with the first one was the goblin's costume and death. Other than that I thought the first one was pretty solid.

They are going to have deviate from the comics no matter what as there is no "secret wars" movie being made. I figure they will either go with the ultimate universe back story or the one from the cartoon. Or they could just come up with a new one that we haven't thought of yet. My guess will be something to do with nanotech(ala ultimate universe) as they really haven't allowed for space aliens in the series yet.
At least both the goblin and venom have complimentary motivations for wanting to destroy spiderman. They both blame him for destroying their lives. I think sandman might figure in as hired muscle which is fine as I think that's pretty much what he is in the comics as well.
As far as the scripting, I think Raimi has been intimately involved in the screenwriting process. I know he was in the first 2. So I don't think things are going to be thrown in just because. People questioned his choice of doc ock but that seemed to work out okay.
Technically, Alex O'Him is the Ultimate Rhino, who is quite different than the normal rhino. Plus I have a feeling that it will be a cameo if anything.
